You may have read the recent CS-VUE email newsletter which mentioned the introduction of a new Projects function within the system.  This email has been sent to you as your CS-VUE user record has created at least one Project in the system.

As part of the changes, we are introducing some new data fields within the Projects function.  It has been necessary to update existing Project records with the following fields: Project Type, Status, and Project Manager.  These updates are explained below.

PROJECT TYPE

For the Project Type field, there are two potential values:

1. Works Project (i.e. a set of consents which are associated with the same construction project), or -
2. Consents Group (i.e. any group of consents which are of interest to the user)

The main functional differences between the types is that a “Works Project” allows the user to mass change the Phase of all Consents assigned to the Project.

As part of the change, all existing records have been set to “Consent Group”. The “Consent Group” type allows any consent to be assigned to more than one project. The “Works Project” type requires that any consent assigned to the project cannot be assigned to any other project. Currently, there is no restriction on the assigning of consents to Projects; therefore we have had to specify the Project Type for all existing projects as “Consent Group”.

In view of this, it is not possible for the Project Type to be changed from “Consent Group” to “Works Project”. However, if you need a project to be re-assigned as a “Works Project” type, please contact Jasmine and she will facilitate this for you.

STATUS
For the Status field, the potential values are “Active” or “Archive”.
We have applied the following rules to the setting of this field:

• All Projects created before 1st January 2007 have been set as Archive
• All Projects created on or after 1st January 2007 have been set as Active 

There is no processing which is dependent on this field setting, so you may change the status of your Projects as appropriate via the Project Edit function.

PROJECT MANAGER
The Project Manager field has been set as the user who created the project (i.e. you!). This field may be updated via the Project Edit function if the project is still active but you are no longer the person responsible for the project.
