By the Numbers – Three parties in court action over Arapae Wetland

Environment Waikato is prosecuting three parties over alleged illegal works in the Arapae Wetland area south of Te Kuiti.

The three parties – who cannot be identified at this stage due to the forthcoming court proceedings – are due to appear in the Te Kuiti district court on Thursday 28 August.

Complaints and enforcement manger Rob Dragten said Environment Waikato’s action alleged unlawful activities related to vegetation clearance, diversion of water, culverts and drainage activities at the Arapae Wetland.No other details would be released ahead of the court hearing, Mr Dragten said.
