A reckless act by a Jeetho farmer in South Gippsland has prompted a warning from EPA Victoria to other landowners.

AU News – OIL SPILL INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY

An EPA Victoria inspection of oil in Scotchmans Creek at Glen Waverley has resulted in an ongoing investigation.

EPA pollution response manager Dan Schmidt said there had been several reports of oil in the Creek, which led to officers visiting the site and undertaking a comprehensive inspection of stormwater drainage systems in the area to determine the source. (Read on …)

A dairy farmer found guilty of effluent management offences has been ordered to speak of his experiences at a series of dairy effluent field days in a bid to avert offending by others.

Bennett Watson has also been ordered to make a public apology in an ad in the Waitomo News and fined $3000 for the offending at his company’s Te Kuiti property. (Read on …)
